How does De-ionised water Cleaning work? - De-ionisation entails the removal of electrically charged (ionised) dissolved substances by binding them to positively or negatively charged sites on the resin as the water passes through a column packed with this resin. This makes the water more aggressive in that it is looking to disolve any dirt it comes in contact with, to replace the negative or positive ions to bring the water back to a balanced state. In so doing it is acting like a cleaning agent.
